Preschool Prep 1 (PP1)
For children ages 14 months – 5 years Parent participation required
Preschool Prep 1 is a grown-up participation class thoughtfully designed to support early childhood development in a warm, nurturing, and playful environment. Ideal for young learners just beginning their preschool journey, this class helps ease separation anxiety, build early classroom routines, and foster a love of learning through shared experiences.
Each 50-minute session includes a rich blend of:
Fine motor activities and sensory play
Music and movement to build coordination and rhythm
Story time for early literacy and listening skills
Arts & crafts to encourage creativity and expression
Foundational fitness and active play to support gross motor development
Children are gently introduced to classroom expectations while caregivers model, support, and guide their child’s participation. This co-learning approach supports:
Developing separation confidence
Increasing independence
Following simple instructions
Trying new activities in a safe, encouraging space
This class is perfect for families looking to ease into group learning while strengthening the caregiver-child bond and supporting school readiness through connection, joy, and hands-on exploration.
Preschool Prep 2 (PP2)
Recommended for ages 2.5–3.5 years old
Preschool Prep 2 is a thoughtfully designed 50-minute drop-off class that helps young learners build independence and confidence as they prepare for preschool or other structured learning environments.
This fun, engaging class combines academics with creativity to support your child’s early development in a nurturing, play-based setting. Each session includes:
Circle Time with weekly themed songs and dances to promote listening, language, and social skills
Story Time to develop focus, comprehension, and early literacy awareness
Story-Inspired Craft Project using a variety of art materials and techniques that encourage imagination, fine motor development, and creative expression
Preschool Prep 2 focuses on:
Following multi-step directions
Name, letter, and number recognition
Strengthening early literacy and language skills
Practicing independence in a classroom setting
Exploring creativity and building peer connections
Expanding preschool readiness and social-emotional skills
Readiness & Participation Notes:
Children must be able to sit for short periods and follow basic instructions
Full potty training is not required — pull-ups are welcome!
An adult must remain on-site to assist with bathroom needs if a child is not fully toilet trained by MTC standards
Parents are not allowed in the classroom, but may remain nearby to support children who are still working on separation
For the benefit of the entire class, children who cry for prolonged periods or repeatedly disrupt instruction (even after redirection/time out) may be asked to try again the following week. We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain a high-quality experience for all participants.
PP1 & PP2 Combined Goals:
